National Family Law Program

      


The National Family Law Program was first offered in 1978, and takes place in a different location in Canada every second summer. In 2014 our Program was held in Whistler, British Columbia.

Credits for the 2014 Program
The following CLE/CPD credits have been approved for the 2014 National Family Law Program:
British Columbia           17.5 hours
Yukon                           10 hours plus 2 hours for Ethics
Quebec                         25 hrs
New Brunswick             20 hrs
Ontario                          18.45 total hours
Please note the (Ontario) hours above reflect attendance at the plenary and none of the sessions below, which are eligible for professionalism hours. Attendees of any of the sessions below will need to add the additional professionalism hours provided by these concurrent sessions and deduct the same amount of time from the substantive hours so that their total hours for the entire program do not exceed 18 hours and 45 minutes.

                                         The following concurrent sessions in the program have received some professionalism hours:

            • The Access to Justice and Family Law Plenary has been accredited for 30 min. of Professionalism Content.
            • Effective Advocacy in Family Law Mediation session held July 15, 2014 has been accredited for 30 minutes of Professionalism Content. This session is also eligible for up to 45 minutes of Substantive Content.
            • Family Lawyers as Agents of Reason – Reducing Conflict session held on July 16, 2014 has been accredited for 1 hour and 15 minutes of Professionalism Content. 
            • Ethical Concerns re Mediation/Arbitration in Family Law held July 16, 2014 has been accredited for 45 minutes of Professionalism Content. This session is also eligible for up to 45 minutes of Substantive Content.

Materials for the 2014 Program
All conference materials for the 2014 National Family Law Program were provided in electronic form. The materials can be downloaded (to view or print) from a password protected intranet site. You can access the site with the personal access code that was provided to you at registration. The material will be accessible from the Family Law Program intranet for two years.
