National Family Law Program 2012

The “early bird” registration fee is $750 plus applicable taxes. After May 15th, 2012, the full registration will be $850 plus applicable taxes. (Please note the Early Bird registration deadline has been extended to May 15, 2012.)

The “early bird” registration fee for those in practice less than 5 years is $550.00 plus applicable taxes. After May 15th, 2012, the registration for those in practice less than 5 years will be $650 plus applicable taxes. .

You can view a list of some of the topics to be covered in our 2012 Family Law Conference, or meet our speakers and presenters. This event has been accredited for MCLE by the law societies in British Columbia, Saskatchewan, New Brunswick, for CPD in Ontario, and by the Barreau du Québec.

To receive information as it becomes available about the 2012 Program, please check back on this website. 

  • The conference office will open in the Conference Centre at the Harbourfront Marriott Hotel Sunday July 15 at 1:00 p.m.and remain open until the end of the reception.
  • The program will end at 12:00 on Thursday, July 19th. You may want to consider this when making your travel plans.

SOCIAL EVENTS
The  reception will be held at the Halifax Marriott Harbourfront Hotel on Sunday evening (July 15th) from 5:00 p.m.to 6:30 p.m.  Entertainment and a dinner is planned on Wednesday evening, July 18th. Family members and guests are welcome to attend all social activities. 

TRAVEL AND ACCOMODATION
All conference participants are responsible for booking their own travel and accomodation. The room block at the Halifax Marriott Harbourfront (1919 Upper Water Street) is now sold out. There are still rooms available, but at a higher rate than the conference room block. For reservations please telephone the hotel directly at 902.421.1700 and ask for the Federation of Law Societies National Family Law Program rates. 

Rooms are also available at the Marriott Courtyard Downtown (5120 Salter Street), starting at $189 per night. It is a full service hotel only a ten minute walk from the Marriott Harbourfront Hotel and Conference Centre. Please call the Marriott Courtyard Downtown directly to make reservations and advise that you are with the Federation of Law Societies of Canada National Family Law Program Group.

THINGS TO DO AND SEE

Halifax has many cultural attractions including the museums, concerts and festivals. The city also offers an abundance of recreational activities such as golf. Great shops and restaurants are a few steps away from the hotel. There is a wide variety of activities to interest everyone.

The Tall Ships are schedule to be on display in July, and there is also a Jazz Festival to enjoy.
