Continuing Legal Education (CLE) and
Bar Admission Course (BAC) Links
Continuing Legal Education: Law Societies in Canada offer continuing legal education (CLE) to their members in order to meet present and future educational needs of the legal profession in their respective jurisdiction. Below you will find links to Canadian CLE websites and providers. The Federation sponsors two CLE programs, the National Criminal Law Program offered each year and the National Family Law Program offered every second year.

Bar Admission: In order to practice law in Canada, a person has to be a member in good standing of a provincial or territorial Law Societies. In order to become a member, a person has to fulfill certain educational, training or articling requirements. These will vary from jurisdiction to jurisdiction. All Law Societies have a process which will allow students, lawyers and foreign applicants to become members of their Law Society. Some Law Societies will allow foreign qualified lawyers to become Foreign Legal Consultants.
