NCA has adopted a new policy with respect to the evaluation of foreign law degrees
March 1, 2009
Effective March 1, 2009, the NCA has adopted a new policy with respect to the evaluation of foreign common law programs, please refer to Section C - Part 1 of the guidelines. Applicants with common law LL.B./JD degrees who were assessed prior to March 1, 2009 may request a review of their file based on the new rules. A letter or e-mail to nca@flsc.ca is sufficient to request a review. No special forms or further documentation are required for the review. There will be no additional charge for the review for recommendations that are current and valid (i.e. not expired). Reviews will be processed in the order received at the office. A review decision should be returned to you within three months, depending on the number of requests received.
June 1st is the deadline date for recording and purchasing syllabi for the August session. Syllabi may be purchased for any of the subjects in your original recommendation letter up to June 1st, 2009. When you receive your review letter, if you have been exempted from any of the subjects purchased, you may advise the office of which exams you will not write and will receive a full refund of the exam fees.
The deadline date for purchasing syllabi and recording intents for the August session is June 1st. Exam dates will be posted on the website six weeks prior to the commencement of the session. Exam schedules will be posted to each applicant one month prior to the session (refer to Section E for additional exam details).
