Council Member representing the Law Society of the Northwest Territories
Sheila MacPherson was appointed to the Federation Council by the Law Society of Northwest Territories in 2012. She is a senior civil litigator in the private sector in Yellowknife, and routinely advises and represents both the Government of the Northwest Territories and the Government of Nunavut on legal issues before courts. She also presently serves as the Law Clerk of the Legislative Assembly of the Northwest Territories. Sheila obtained her law degree from Dalhousie University in Halifax in 1987. She was admitted to the Law Society of the Northwest Territories in 1988, and to the Law Society of Nunavut in 1999. Sheila served as President of the Law Society of the Northwest Territories in 1997, and served again as President of the law society in 2011. Sheila M. MacPherson
