Past President 2011-2012Ron MacDonald was appointed a Council member in 2004 by the Nova Scotia Barristers' Society. He is the Director of the Nova Scotia Serious Incident Response Team, a new provincial agency that will investigate incidents involving police. Previously, he was Criminal Law Policy Advisor with the Nova Scotia Department of Justice in Halifax. He obtained a Bachelor of Arts from St. Francis Xavier University and a Bachelor of Laws from Dalhousie University Law School. Ron was admitted to the Nova Scotia Barristers' Society in 1985 and was appointed Queen's Counsel in 2002. Ron has worked extensively with the Nova Scotia Barristers’ Society since 1987, serving as a member of Bar Council from 1992 to 2001 and its President in 2005-2006.
