Council Member representing the Nova Scotia Barristers' SocietyCatherine Walker was appointed a Council member by the Nova Scotia Barristers' Society in November 2009. She is a sole practioner with the firm Walker Law Inc. practising property law, administrative law and wills and estates in Halifax. She graduated from Dalhousie Law School in 1977 with a Bachelor of Laws, was admitted to the Nova Scotia Bar the same year, and was appointed Queen’s Counsel in 1993. Catherine was awarded the Distinguished Service Award by the Nova Scotia Barristers’ Society in 2004. Catherine served as a member of the governing Council of the Nova Scotia Barristers’ Society for the 1989-1993 and 2004-2008 terms, and as President for the 2007-08 term. She was co-founder and President of the Real Estate Lawyers Association of Nova Scotia (RELANS), and currently serves in a volunteer capacity on a number of committees and task forces of the Nova Scotia Barristers' Society.
