Louis Sebert is a sole practitioner in the Northwest Territories. He graduated from Carleton University in Ottawa with a degree in Arts in 1972, and earned his Bachelor of Laws from the University of Ottawa in 1975. He was called to the Bar of Ontario in 1977, the Bar of Alberta in 1981 and the Bar of the Northwest Territories in 1983. He has practised law in Fort Smith, Northwest Territories since 1984.

Louis is the Law Society of the Northwest Territories appointee to the NWT Legal Services Board. Since 1984 Louis has also taught part-time at Aurora College in the Management and Renewable Resource Programs. He has served three terms on the Fort Smith Town Council, and since 2002 has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Northwest Territories Power Corporation. He was elected to the Executive Committee of the Law Society of the Northwest Territories in December 2006, serving as Treasurer for two years.
